This is a pre-processing (red) element. It is placed after a Source (and often after a Volume Control audio processing element) to measure the volume of the audio in dB. The level measurements can then be shown visually on the Dashboard.
| ! | Level meter sink |
| Unusually for an audio processing element, you can create a valid PIPE ending in a level meter element (i. e. without a sink element). This is used to create a PIPE for monitoring audio levels and silence detection. |
| Element | Description |
| Status | Non-editable information field. Shows current audio input status. |
| Measurement interval | Sets the time in miliseconds after which the level measurement is updated. |
| Peak fall-off rate | Sets the speed in decibels per milisecond for how fast the displayed audio level in the visual level meter drops after a peak. |
| Peak hold time | Sets the time in miliseconds for which a peak is displayed in the visiual level meter. |
| Enabled | Toggles the level measurement “On" or “Off”. |
| Level monitoring | Toggles the level measurement “On" or “Off”. When “On”, warnings and errors are triggered based on the following settings. |
| Inactive threshold | Sets the dB level under which the audio is considered “silent”. |
| Active threshold | Sets the dB level above which the “silence” is considered over. |
| Hold Time | Sets the time in seconds that the level needs to be below the Inactive Threshold before “silence” is detected. |
| Warning Timeout | Sets the duration of “silence” in seconds after which a warning notification is triggered. This notification is also written into the Log. |
| Error Timeout | Sets the duration of “silence” in seconds after a warning notification has been triggered until an error notification is triggered. This notification is also written into the Log. |
| Stop Pipe after error timeout | Toggles whether the PIPE is stopped after an error timeout (see option above) is triggered. When “On”, stop on error is enabled. |
| Set alarm on timeout | Toggles whether a warning or error timeout is displayed in the UI. When “On”, it is displayed. |
